Threshold consciousness (commonly called "half-asleep" or "half-awake") is the state of falling asleep or waking up.

Physiological phenomenon that can occur in threshold consciousness including lucid dreaming, hypnagogia, hypnopompia, hypnagogic hallucinations, and sleep paralysis.
