Spinning is a method of dream stabilisation in which the dreamer spins, or twists, several times. He or she can spin on any of his or her axes, but most commonly a dreamer spins through his or her X-Y axis, usually whilst standing on the spot.

Supposedly, the feeling of motion stabilises the dream, sustaining lucidity, making the dream more vivid, or preventing wake. It is well known that this method very often causes scene changes, and as such is common way of inducing these.
