Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (often abbreviated to MILD) is a technique developed by The Lucidity Institute as a method for reliably inducing lucid dreams. It was primarily created as a form of Dream Initiated Lucid Dreams, but the principle can also be used for Wake Initiated Lucid Dreams. It involves setting an intention to recognize the dreamstate (as a form of self-affirmation), often by telling oneself to look for dream signs.

Because it is easy to master (almost everyone sets intentions frequently), it is ideal for research purposes involving subjects who have never practised lucid dreaming induction techniques before.
